FAQs
Frequently asked questions.
01Why does DA drop to 0% in the comparison?
Under the standard pay commission rules, when a new structure is implemented, the Dearness Allowance (DA) accumulated under the previous scale (e.g. 53% or 57%) is merged into the basic salary. Consequently, the DA rate is reset to 0% under the new 8th CPC.
02How is the comparison calculation derived?
The 7th CPC components are calculated based on your current inputs with a 53% DA baseline. The 8th CPC components are calculated using the selected fitment factor, resetting DA to 0% initially, and applying the proposed HRA (30%/20%/10%) and scaled TA rules.
