01How is pay fixed on promotion or MACP?
Under Fundamental Rules (FR 22(I)(a)(1)): 1. First, one national increment (3%) is added to your basic pay in your current Pay Level. 2. You are then moved to the higher Pay Level corresponding to the promotion or MACP grade. 3. In this new level, your basic pay is fixed at the cell value that is equal to or immediately higher than the increased basic pay calculated in Step 1.
02What is MACP?
Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) is a financial upgrade scheme. It is granted to Central Government employees on completion of 10, 20, and 30 years of continuous service, in case they did not receive regular promotions during these periods. The pay fixation rules for MACP are identical to promotion rules.
